Teletherapy

Therapy in the Convenience of Your California, Oregon, or Washington Home

I’m doing all of my sessions via teletherapy, also known as online therapy. I’m located in Ventura, California, but I’m licensed to practice in California, Oregon, and Washington. This means I can provide teletherapy to residents throughout California, Oregon, and Washington.

During covid-19, teletherapy has served a vital need for my clients who needed help more than ever. Many of my clients say they prefer teletherapy to meeting in person. Preliminary research studies show that online therapy is often as effective, and sometimes more so, than in-person therapy.

I use a HIPAA-compliant video platform called TheraNest. It’s safe, confidential and easy to use.

I don’t record our sessions and neither does TheraNest. In addition, I ask that you not record our sessions, which are meant to be private and confidential, just as if we met in person.

The process to do online therapy with me is simple: I email you a link before the session, you click on it and join. You can do this from your phone, tablet or computer. There’s no need to download an app.

Because online therapy is different from in-person therapy, there are some things to consider.

First, it’s important to sit in a private and quiet space for your session. Second, make sure your location offers a strong Internet connection. Third, make sure your device is fully charged or have a power cable nearby.

By far, the #1 benefit to online therapy is convenience. For many of us who live fast-paced lives, that’s hugely important.
